This magnificent VDL Pilot 50 is a yacht built with great sailing characteristics, while also being designed to accommodate longer stays on board; you can enjoy a comfortable life on board this beautiful vessel all year round. It is fully insulated, featuring double glazing in Gebo thermally insulated frames, a hull insulated with foam, a Post central heating system (installed in 2022), and a built-in Ecor Dryfan 12 Pro stainless steel dehumidifier with a hygrostat to keep the moisture level stable on board. The functional wheelhouse connects seamlessly on the same level to the spacious aft deck, which includes a large U-shaped seating area on the port side. The aft deck is finished in teak and can be completely enclosed with a new canopy. The swim platform is easily accessible from the aft deck. Inside the wheelhouse, there is a comfortable L-shaped sofa that accommodates 7 to 8 people, complete with a fixed table; the interior helm station is located on the starboard side. Descending the semi-circular staircase, you reach the galley on the port side, with a cozy dinette (seating 7 to 8 people) opposite it on the starboard side. In the forward section of the yacht, there is a guest cabin with a double bed, as well as another guest cabin on the starboard side featuring a bunk bed. The owner’s cabin is located in the aft section and includes a French-style double bed (160x200 cm). The engine room is easily accessible via a watertight door from the corridor leading to the owner’s cabin and is laid out in a clear, well-organized manner.
The yacht has undergone a two-phase refit. Phase 1, completed in 2022, involved sandblasting the entire hull below the waterline and applying a new epoxy coating system. Phase 2 (2024–2025): The entire hull and superstructure have been painted using an Awlgrip two-component paint system. The interior has been updated with new carpeting, new synthetic leather cushions, and a new chair for the lower dinette. The helm station dashboard has been renewed and equipped with updated navigation electronics. Several stainless steel upgrades have been added to the deck, including stainless steel backing plates for the bollards. Thanks to this comprehensive maintenance and renovation history, this unique Pilot 50 is in exceptionally good condition.
This VDL Pilot 50 is equipped with: A fully enclosable cockpit canopy with zip-out window sections; ample storage space in the aft section including a freezer; a complete set of exterior cushions; 1150Wh solar panels (2024); a Victron Cerbo GX system with a touchscreen display (also accessible via the Victron mobile app); a deck wash pump connected to the freshwater system; a freshwater filtration system with a UV lamp (2024); two Samsung Smart TVs; a WiFi router available (SIM card not included); multiple temperature sensors; cameras in the engine room and at the stern (viewable via the chart plotter or on smartphone); a dishwasher in the galley; LED lighting throughout; a foldable stainless steel radar mast; a detachable stainless steel side boarding ladder; and an additional heat exchanger that utilizes engine heat to supply the central heating system. With the mast raised, the air draft is approximately 4.85 meters; with the mast lowered, it is approximately 3.35 meters.
This Pilot 50 is currently available for viewing by appointment in the area of Den Helder, The Netherlands.
For questions and/or to make an appointment you are welcome 7 days a week at Elburg Yachting.
